Use Ultrasound To Find Out Your Baby’s Gender

Being pregnant is generally a very exciting time. You can't wait to hold your baby. You want to be able to count their fingers and toes, and make sure that everything is fine. There are some things that you have to wait for. There are others that you don't. One of the things that you don't have to wait for is finding out the gender of your baby. Ultrasound can help you find that out. There are several different ultrasound choices that you can use.

Ultrasounds are done through the use of sound waves. When you are getting an ultrasound, the technician uses a wand that produces those sound waves and then reads what comes back. Then a computer reads those results and translates them onto a monitor that lets you see your baby.

2D Ultrasound

This is the kind of ultrasound that has been used for many years. It produces a flat view of your baby. It might not be the most clear picture out there, but there have been advances in the technology that will let you have a clearer look using this method.

The benefit is that you can use this method sooner than the other ultrasound methods. You may be able to see your baby's gender before you could see it using a different method.

A drawback is that these ultrasounds aren't as clear, no matter how many improvements have been made. Another drawback is that there is a higher risk of mistakes being made because of that lack of clarity.

3D Ultrasound

3D ultrasound is much clearer than the 2D method. You will get a better picture of your child. Instead of a flat result on the monitor, you will see something that looks more real. You will be able to see your baby's features. Your baby will be modeled for you, so you will get a much better idea of what your baby will look like. You will be able to take pictures home.

The benefits are that there is a lower mistake risk because of the clarity. If your pregnancy is high risk, or there is the suggestion of some kind of problem with the baby, you will be able to see exactly what is happening.

One drawback is that this method uses higher powered sound waves in order to see the baby with such clarity. Some doctors recommend against such a high dose of sound waves on the baby. It could bother them while they are still in the womb.

4D Ultrasound

This is the newest technology. When you get one of these ultrasounds, you will get a real-time look at your baby. It will be like a movie. You will be able to see your baby moving around while the ultrasound is happening.

One benefit is that it is so clear. You will be able to take the video home with you so that you can watch it over and over. There are even lower mistake risks when it comes to using this method.

This method carries the same drawbacks of the 3D ultrasound.

Waiting until you have your baby to find out the gender is a thing of the past. If you don't want to wait, you can get an ultrasound and get a good view of your baby.
